Privacy notice · 14 July 2026

Minimal data, used for a clear purpose.

This notice explains how AC Radar uses personal data when you search for stock, buy an alert, receive email or contact us.

Controller

AC Radar is the controller for personal data processed by this service. Contact privacy@acradar.uk for privacy enquiries or to exercise your rights.

Data we use

Depending on how you use AC Radar, we process:

  • postcode and search radius used to find nearby stores;
  • email address, verification status and secure-link records;
  • alert plan, start and end dates, product and location preferences;
  • Paddle transaction, price, refund and chargeback references, but not full card details;
  • email delivery status and the stock details included in an alert; and
  • ordinary technical and security data such as IP address, timestamps, browser details and request logs.

Free postcode search does not require an account and is not used to create a subscriber or payment profile.

Why we use it

We use search inputs to provide nearby results; purchase and alert details to deliver the fixed-duration service, verify your email and provide secure settings access; and transaction records to administer payments, refunds, disputes and support. These uses are necessary to perform our contract with you or take steps at your request.

We use limited technical, delivery and security information to protect the service, prevent abuse, diagnose faults and maintain reliable records. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in operating a safe and dependable service. We use information to meet legal duties where the law requires it.

AC Radar sends paid stock alerts and essential service messages for the alert you requested. It does not use your alert email for unrelated marketing without asking separately.

Who receives it

We share only what is needed with service providers that help operate AC Radar: Paddle as merchant of record and payment provider; Resend for email delivery; hosting, database, backup, security and network providers; and postcodes.io for postcode geocoding. A configured map tile provider receives ordinary browser requests when the map loads.

These providers act under their own notices or contractual data protection duties. Paddle processes checkout and payment data under its own privacy notice. Clicking an outbound store link takes you to that store’s service and privacy terms. We do not sell personal data.

Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where UK data protection law requires it, transfers rely on adequacy regulations, approved contractual safeguards or another lawful transfer mechanism.

Retention

We keep personal data only for as long as needed for the purpose collected. Alert preferences and delivery data are kept while the alert is active and afterwards only as needed to complete delivery, support, security and dispute handling. Expired secure links cannot be used.

Transaction, refund and accounting references may be retained for up to six years where needed for legal, tax, fraud-prevention or claims records. Technical logs are kept for a shorter operational period. Data is then deleted, anonymised or minimised, subject to backup expiry cycles and any legal preservation requirement.

Cookies and storage

AC Radar runs no advertising or analytics cookies by default. A local browser preference remembers that you dismissed the cookie notice. A short-lived HttpOnly cookie can maintain authenticated alert settings access for up to two hours. Paddle Checkout and essential infrastructure may set or use strictly necessary cookies and process request logs.

Your choices and rights

You can change or stop an alert through its secure settings link. UK data protection rights may include access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and portability, depending on the circumstances. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

Contact us first so we can help. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
